This panel session will focus on the significant strides made in the FESPA UK Waste Accreditation programme, highlighting its role in fostering sustainable waste management practices within the print, signage and graphics industry. Since its inception, the Waste Accreditation programme has been pivotal in guiding businesses towards responsible waste disposal and recycling, emphasising the importance of a circular economy.
The discussion features industry leaders from Soyang Europe and Premier Paper, both recognised as ‘champions’ for their efforts in driving sustainable waste management, along with Suzi Ward and Jon Hutton from FESPA UK. The panel will share insights in to how the accreditation has helped businesses optimise waste processes and improve environmental impacts. They will also discuss the collaborative efforts between FESPA UK and suppliers to broaden the scope of materials accepted for recycling, making it easier for businesses to manage their waste effectively.

Suzi Ward
Managing DirectorFESPA UKHer leadership has been instrumental in developing and expanding projects such as the Next Generation Project, which supports emerging talent in the industry, and the Waste Accreditation Scheme, promoting sustainable waste management practices.
Suzi has also played a crucial role in the establishment of the Sustainability Waste Academy, which offers a suite of seven courses designed to educate and empower businesses to adopt more environmentally friendly practices. Her commitment to fostering a sustainable and collaborative industry is evident in the many successful initiatives and events she has spearheaded.
Jon Hutton
Sustainability Consultant FESPA UKJon has spearheaded various initiatives aimed at enhancing the environmental footprint of the industry and its supply chains, with key achievements including the diversion of over 100,000 tonnes of label waste and polyester foils from landfills. He has also played a pivotal role in developing the FESPA UK Waste Accreditation program.
His current focus is on establishing national infrastructures for recycling production and end-of-life graphics materials, aiming to create a more sustainable future for the printing industry.
Andrew Simmons
Sales Director MediaSoyang EuropeAndrew is a long-serving member of the Soyang Europe team, having joined the company as sales manager back in September 2011. He went on to become sales director in January 2014 and then director of product development in May 2022.
He has served in his current role since the turn of the current year, working with customers across a range of markets on helping them identify the best media solutions for their business.
